The Best Nightlife and Bars in Harwich, MA
Perks Beer Garden
Their slogan is “Drink Like A Local”…need we say more? During the day Perks is a fun little outside beer garden, with picnic tables, a variety of craft beers, and some light eats.
At night they open a second bar inside and it turns up quite a bit. Main street in Harwich Port has become the nightlife strip in the lower Cape and Perks is right at the center of it.
The Port
Another great bar right in the center of Main St. in Harwich Port, The Port can be a lot of fun on summer nights. A restaurant by day, by night the back deck is bustling with people of all ages. Located directly next to Perks, you can’t go wrong with either one.
Ember
Same owners as The Port and just down the street, Ember has a great outside area for socializing and drinking. Situated around a huge fire (hence the name), there’s an outside bar and plenty of tables. On a warm summer weekend it’s a great place to end the night.
The Chatham Squire
(15 minutes from Harwich) Always packed during summer weekends, there’s 3 bars spread throughout this historical tavern. On any given night there’ll be a wide range of ages - from college kids to a 80 year old couple. It’s a Cape Cod staple.
Expect long lines if you’re not there early - eating dinner and staying through is always an easy trick to get in.
Wequassett Outer Bar
In the summer the outer bar at Cape Cod’s premier resort is bustling. Never mind the stunning views, the circular bar has amazing drinks and there's nothing better than a warm night by the water. There’s often live music by the pool, so check out their website for a calendar.
The Beachcomber (Wellfleet)
Located on one of the most beautiful beaches on planet earth, the ‘Comber’ as the locals know it, is worth the drive (about 30 mins).
Either for a beach day, or for some live music at night, its’ a whole scene. Beachcomber hoodies can be spotted around the country, so make sure to cop one before you leave.

The Woodshed (Brewster)
The Shed is one of the funnest bars on the lower cape. It’s an old barn converted into a little music venue. Expect great cover bands, cheap drinks, and plenty of dancing.
It’s cash only and the ATM will get you with fee’s, so be sure to bring some.
Hog Island Brewery (Orleans)
For a more casual (and older crowd), head over to Hog Island for some fresh local beers, corn hole and some live music.
They’ve got a couple bars inside and a nice outside area with picnic tables and room for dogs or little kids to run around.
Provincetown
If you have a car and are willing to make the drive, P Town has a nightlife scene all it’s own. With several awesome bars up and down commercial street, you’re sure to have a good time.
